About Digital Folios Inc.

Today DFI explores the use of storytelling for the web, for community building, for business communications and as a performance art form. Storied can be created from client material, from interviews, research and as originals.

I started Digital Folios Inc. in 1998 to pursue opportunities in communications with a particularly interest in multimedia and the web.

In the past 14 years DFI has;

  • developed complete websites, from scratch in Dreamweaver
  • reviewed and critiqued websites,
  • interviewed executives and government bureaucrats for websites and situation reports
  • researched best web practices,
  • participated in a research team doing online UX (user experience) research
  • written and edited hundreds of thousands of words of web copy,
  • and a lot of print copy too, in a variety of styles.

DFI has completed projects for;

  • Former City of Ottawa Councillor Clive Doucet (Web administrator and online strategic advisor for 12 years, Web and electronic comms manager for his 2010 mayoralty campaign)
  • GAPC — General Assembly Production Centre (repeat assignments)

Between DFI projects I have worked in-house on projects on the Canadian Army national web team, Army Multimedia as Web Content Coordinator and News Editor (37 months) and Industry Canada (Government of Canada) as Editor-in-Chief, This Week @ IC, (5 month limited assignment)

DFI has moved from all an services web company to a concentration on writing, editing, storytelling, Web content and content structure (navigation and information architecture, usability).

Digital Folios Inc. continues to be the contractor of record for projects initiated through MurrayRobRoyMcGregor.ca.
